Descendants of the Paternal Grandparents of James J. Brown

James J. "J.J." Brown, son of James Brown and Cecilia Palmer, was the husband of Margaret Tobin Brown, aka Molly Brown heroine of the Titantic. He was a millionaire mine owner who made his fortune in Leadville, Colorado during the Colorado gold rush. James K. Brown was also in the mining business in Leadville. The obituary of James K. Brown states that he was a cousin of James J. "J.J." Brown. This genealogy has been done using the assumption that James J. "J.J." Brown and James K. Brown were 1st cousins, therefore having a grandfather in common.
The purpose of this site is to document Margaret and James J. Brown's family and encourage others to contribute additional information to the genealogy. The "Molly Brown" Genealogy Project will continue. I will update the site as new information is uncovered, so check back often. If you have information to be included on this site, contact me at the email address on this page.
