    Text [Death of Former Resident-The news of the death of James J. Brown, native of Pittston, which occurred Tuesday at the ome of his daughter in New York City, was received with sorrow by his wide circle of acquaintances in this locality. Mr. Brown is reported ot have made millions of dollars in gold prospecting in Leadville, Colo., forty years ago, shortly after he left this community. His home was at Denver for many years. He married a Denver young woman shortly after he established, his home in that city and she survives him, together with one duaghter, Mrs. George Benziger, and one son, Lawrence of Denver; also one brother Edward of Madison Avenue, Scranton.
    Mr. Brown occasionally visited friends in Pittston. His last visit here was two years ago. The late Mrs. Cavanaugh was his sister. During his residence in Pittston he made his home in the Martket street section.]
